The Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) prides itself on fostering a community of talented, creative individuals committed to redefining the boundaries of art and design and to expanding their own vision and perspective through rigorous study. MICA enrols 1,700 undergraduate and 200 graduate students, including 120 international students, from 48 states and 52 countries.

The institution offers 25 programs of study that lead to bachelor of fine arts, master of arts and master of fine arts degrees. MICA sponsors many public and community-outreach programs, including more than 100 exhibitions annually by students, faculty, and nationally and internationally known artists. Baltimore, with a metropolitan population of 2.7 million, offers students the best of city life: a diverse population; a vibrant visual and performing arts community; and world-class museums, medical centers and sports teams.

The MICA campus is located in a residential city neighborhood surrounded by other cultural and educational institutions. Known for its temperate and sunny climate, Baltimore enjoys four distinct seasons: blustery, cold winters with occasional snowfall; hot, humid summers; and mild, pleasant springs and falls.
